The Restorative Aide online course offered by We Care Online is a comprehensive training program designed specifically for certified nurses’ aides (CNAs) seeking to excel in providing efficient restorative care to residents in nursing homes. Course Duration: The course spans 32 hours of engaging online content, allowing students to progress at their own pace and convenience.

Textbook: The course materials are fully integrated into the online platform, eliminating the need for a separate textbook.

Learner Outcomes: Throughout the course, students will gain proficiency in various aspects related to restorative care, including understanding the functioning of a rehabilitation unit, effects of aging and disability, basic anatomy and body movement, identification of medical problems affecting functional independence, methods to assist residents while promoting their autonomy, techniques for helping with mobility and basic exercises, familiarity with common rehabilitation equipment, basic balance responses and activities, and effective ways to interact with residents.

Course Outline: The course is structured into ten units covering various essential topics related to restorative care, including rehabilitation and its function, effects of aging, basic anatomy, diseases impacting mobility, promoting independence, resident transfers, ambulation, types of exercise, available restorative aide equipment, communication, and medical terminology.

The class is a 32-hour course

Yes, however, we ask that you print off a “skills checklist” and you take the checklist to a facility that you are comfortable with and have either the RN or PT sign off that you can do the skills.

There is no book.  All your reading material is provided in the course.

It is part of your course and when you get to that section you can print off the document.

You do not have a renewal for the Restorative Aide course.  It is a lifetime certificate.
